It sure seems like we’re pooling too much of our resources in solving the traffic woes of EDSA.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ricardo Marquez said that he plans to deploy policemen from other units to assist in the traffic management duties of the Highway Patrol Group (HPG). These other units include the Special Action Force (SAF) troopers.

Marquez explained in a Bandila interview: “The initial number of (HPG personnel), 150 plus 10 support from the district headquarters is not enough. So we will assign those from the other units such as SAF to the HPG. We’re going to train them on traffic management before deployment.”

So, how would you like SAF troopers helping ease road congestion along EDSA?
