While people online continue to process the unexpected kiss shared by It’s Showtime hosts Vice Ganda and Karylle, the bashing on the controversial smooch has reached Karylle’s husband Yael Yuzon — but he seems pretty cool about the whole thing.
On Saturday, Sep. 26, Vice went on stage as his alter ego Viceral, singing Katy Perry’s “I Kissed A Girl.” He then found his co-host Karylle and kissed her — as part of the epic It’s Showtime Kapamilya Day production.
However, some fans took it negatively, found fault, and as expected, immediately tagged Yael on Twitter along with a host of their complaints and sumbong. But Yael won’t be suckered in with the critics as he calmly and effortlessly answered the haters online.
First, he denied he ever said he was insulted by the whole segment. The statement comes after a screenshot of a fake tweet made the rounds online.
“I don’t use exclamation points like that!” he said.
@nhelpalma11 read. not my account. I don’t use exclamation points like that! haha

Asked if he agreed to the kissing scene, Yael wrote: “For me, it was just another day. And that’s exactly what it is, just another day.”
@jvixtreme nope, for me, it was just another day. and that’s exactly what it is, just another day.

Yael also revealed he would still approve of the ViceRylle kiss because he’s “all for truth and freedom.”
@jvixtreme yes. I’m all for truth and freedom.

But, in the future, does Yael want permission for performances like this?
“No one needs permission from me. We all have our own minds…I’m ahead of my time,” he said.
@BlueVicerylle I didn’t allow anything. No one needs permission from me. We all have our own minds. 🙂

The SpongeCola vocalist also assured another user that he’s “light and breezy” about the whole thing.
When told they felt sorry for him, Yael put things bluntly, but in a very composed manner: “I do what I love for a living. I have a great wife and a great life. Don’t feel sorry for me,” he wrote.
@mjhanemariano I’m in Cebu, waiting to perform. I do what I love for a living. I have a great wife and a great life. Don’t feel sorry for me

We applaud your unruffled sass, Yael.
