If things went by differently, fans might never have seen actress Arci Munoz showing off her chops in the Kapamilya TV series Pasion de Amor, or as Ginebra’s calendar girl for 2016.

In a recent interview, the starlet says that not too long ago, she almost gave up on the whole showbusiness thing. Arci revealed she felt hopeless when TV5 did not renew her contract.

Back then, Arci bagged the title role of Felina: Prinsesa ng mga Pusa, Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak and Undercover. She was also a mainstay of Lokomoko, Wiltime Bigtime, and Wowowillie. And then nothing.

“Nung hindi ako ni-renew, sabi ko, ‘a, maybe it’s not really for me. Maybe, I’m not really meant to be an actress. Baka maging rock star na lang talaga ako, baka yun talaga ang para sa akin,” Arci told reporters according to PEP.ph.

While Arci has a decent chance of making it in the music industry as the vocalist of the rock band Philia, fate had other plans for her.

“Tapos, nagpa-audition sila for Pasion de Amor para sa role ni Norma, nakuha ako,” she said.

A theater arts graduate from University of the Philippines, Arci first shot to fame in 2005 in the GMA reality talent search, Starstruck.

And now that she’s made the rounds of all the major TV channels in the Philippines, Arci says she values that her journey was not an overnight success story.

“Sobrang dami kong natutunan lalo ngayon na nasa Kapamilya na ako. Ibang klase. In just a short period of time, ang dami nilang naituro sa akin, and I will cherish that forever,” she explained.

Now, aside from Pasion de Amor, Arci also makes regular appearances in the Sunday noontime show ASAP, and had a role in Chito Roño’s Etiquette for Mistresses.

Arci was also been handpicked by Ginebra as the liquor brand’s calendar girl for 2016. She follows her Pasion co-star Ellen Adarna, who was the muse for 2015. Among the other celebrities that have been featured in the sought-after wall calendars include Marian Rivera, Anne Curtis, Solenn Heussaff, Georgina Wilson, and Angelica Panganiban.

“Our concept for the calendars showed who I am behind the camera. The calendars are actually a sneak peek into my life. Not many people know that I am athletic, that I work out and play basketball. I am a rocker but I also love girly things like fashion,” Arci says according to Interaksyon.com.

Are we the only ones glad Arci didn’t drop the ball? Well here are some photos from the Ginebra shoot that can change your mind.
