It was the most boring first half ever with Ateneo leading all throughout, and as much as 15 points. On their first round meeting, it seemed like the Blue Eagles had already bagged the victory.

But La Salle had a surprise. They exploded in the third quarter with a 10-2 run that saw the Green Archers within a two-point deficit. Perkins shot a beautiful three-pointer putting DLSU in the lead for the first time in the game.

Ateneo depended on Ravena but he missed the crucial free throws and jumpers in the fourth quarter.

“The two teams headed in the final two minutes tied at 74-all, before Ateneo found Sam Ikhe for a basket underneath with 1:27 left,” reports GMA news. But with Josh Torralba scoring a three-pointer from the corner, La Salle regained the lead at 77-76.

Jeron Teng led the Green Archers with 18 points, six rebounds and five assists, while Keifer Ravena gave Ateneo 19 points, five rebounds and five assists.
