Women’s rights group Gabriela should be partly happy now that their request for MTRCB to investigate afternoon variety show It’s Showtime is actually being granted.
Last week, Gabriela sent a request to the censors board, claiming that it’s received numerous complaints from concerned citizens who felt that the show is pimping out Angelica Jane Yap aka Pastillas Girl aka ABS-CBN’s answer to GMA-7’s AlDub phenomenon.
On Oct 6, MTRCB confirmed via Twitter that It’s Showtime has agreed to appear before the board’s Gender and Development Committee on Oct 13 — we’re hoping the meeting isn’t just for show.
