Twenty-six year old Filipina Amy Vachal didn’t just make it through the blind auditions of the 9th season of The Voice. She wowed all four coaches of the show with her beautiful take of the classic “Dream A Little Dream of Me”.

Three of them — Blake Shelton, Pharell, and Gwen Stefani — turned as soon as she finished the first verse of the song. Blake could be heard saying “Please Lord! Please pick me,” even as Vashal was still performing. Later on, he compared her to singers Norah Jones and Colbie Caillat and thanked her for “bringing what you do in our show.”

“My team is full,” Maroon 5 vocalist Adam Levine began his explanation on why he wasn’t able to join the other coaches. “Otherwise, I would have turned around first.”

The Pinay eventually chose Pharell to be her coach.

Vashal is a Brooklyn, New York native, whose love for music started quite early. As a little girl, she “listened to her dad’s Grateful Dad cover band,” reports gossipcop.com.

According to Sunstar Cebu, she is a singer and performs at Rockwood Music Hall in New York. The paper was able to trace Vachal as the niece of Cebu third district Representative Gwendolyn Garcia.
