We hope this criminal mastermind stays behind bars for life.

“Eighteen (previously reported as only 13) Indian businessmen surfaced at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday, October 7, to file criminal charges against a kidnap syndicate targeting Indian moneylenders,” reports Aie Balagtas See in The Philippine Star.

The report noted: “The victims all pointed to Pakistani national Zahr Ahmed Chaudhry as the mastermind behind kidnappings that date back as far as 2006. Chaudhry and three of his alleged accomplices were arrested last week for kidnapping Jujhar Singh in exchange for PHP15 million.”

In light of more victims coming forward, Max Salvador, head of the NBI-National Capital Region, said they will file new cases of kidnapping against Chaudhry.

Salvador added that they “are also looking at the involvement of police officers in the kidnappings,” he said.
