Haribon Foundation throws a free party to welcome migratory birds to the PH!

Around this time of year, migratory birds from all over the world fly by the Philippines to escape their winter. All sorts of birds, tens of thousands of them, are expected to be seen in various coasts, mudflats, swamps and forest areas all around the country. While many go on treks and trips to watch and photograph, very few has thought of throwing a welcoming party.

Thank goodness, Haribon Foundation is doing that exactly. For the third straight year, the foundation is celebrating the peak of migratory season with a fourt-part shebang to last until March 2016.

They’re starting with OctoBirdFest — get it? — on Oct 24. It’s a free party filled with all sorts of activities that should get people in the bird-watching mood, chief of which is kite-flying.

If you miss flying a kite, or totally missed out on learning how to fly kite, we suggest you swing by the Burnham Green in Luneta Park on that Saturday. You can design and fly kites, as well as learn how. For good measure, Haribon put up some more fun and games, booths and activities, as well as entertainment to get everyone in the mood. GMA talent Enzo Pineda will be hosting the free party.

Perhaps this party will get the birds coming down here, you know? It’s been reported after all that bird sightings has been on decline. So yeah! Welcome them birds!

Oct 24. Burnham Green, Rizal Park, Manila Free
