In this country, politicans repeat themselves.

“Liberal Party (LP) President and Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Sec. Jun Abaya announced that comebacking Mayor Alfredo S. Lim is the official candidate of the ruling party in the mayoral race in Manila,” report Ryan Ponce Pacpaco and Itchie G. Cabayan on Journal Online.

Abaya told reporters, “It’s official, (former) Mayor Lim, our longtime ally, will be our official candidate in the mayoralty race in Manila City. I signed his nomination and we believe on the capability of Mayor Lim to continue the straight path of President Benigno Aquino III.”

The report said that “the certificate of nomination and acceptance, dated Sept. 28, 2015 was also noted by former Interior Sec. Mar Roxas, the party’s standard-bearer.”

The report further pointed out that Lim was a staunch ally of the late President Cory Aquino and stood with her throughout the numerous coup attempts against her government.
