Rodrigo Duterte’s adviser says the Davao mayor will run for President

According to his adviser Lito Banayo, Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is running for President in May 2016. Banayo confirmed with GMA News Online on Sat afternoon, Oct 10.

“Banayo said that there is still no definite date when the mayor will formally announce his presidential run,” GMA News Online reported.

For the Mayor’s information, the filing of candidacy will run from Oct 12 to Oct 16. 

But here’s the funny thing: Though there are a lot of banners and tarps with both his and Alan Cayetano’s face in them, Banayo said Duterte still hasn’t picked a running mate.

While, Duterte has repeatedly said he will not run for President, the dude actually had the gall to release an initial list of his senatorial candidates, which he dubbed as “his dream team.”

What a tease.

In any case, let’s wait for Oct 15, the date which the Duterte said he’ll wait for, before deciding whether or not he’ll run for President.
