When Jessy Mendiola posted a photo of herself wearing a teeny tiny red bikini on Instagram, many people thought she was the new Darna.
But no, she’s not replacing Angel Locsin, who pulled out from the remake because of a disc bulge. Or at least Jessy denies that she is. At a press conference for her new teleserye You’re My Home on Wednesday, Jessy clarified that her IG post didn’t mean anything.
“Alangan mag-pose ako nang naka-turtle neck sa beach? I went on a vacation and nag-beach, so I think it’s pretty normal for you to pose wearing a bikini or any beachwear,” the young actress said.
She is flattered though. “Kinikilig ako when they put a comment about that, so thank you. Of course nothing is sure yet. I’m not really pushing it.”
So who is replacing Angel? Well, there aren’t any confirmed reports yet but Coconuts Manila heard from the grapevine that an almost legal Kapamilya, whose name got dragged in that drunken flight incident, is being eyed for the role.
