Watch: ‘Laglag bala’ scam reaches Fox News Channel

“I know what you’re thinking, what is wrong with some people? My answer? I just don’t know.”

In her segment “Off the Record,” Fox News Channel commentator Greta van Susteren slammed the security officials of Ninoy Aquino International Airport for extorting money form international and local travelers after planting live ammunitions into their luggage.

An American friend of hers, who is of Filipino descent, warned her about the “laglag bala” scheme because she’ll be visiting the Philippines next week.

Before she started criticizing NAIA security, she recalled her commentary about Thai officials holding back an important radar data. That day on her show, she called Thailand the “lamest country of the day.”

The Thais got mad at her and their Foreign Affairs spokesman said that “she should not have hastily drawn up conclusion, or criticism, or comments without studying all the facts.”

She feared that another nation – the Philippines – will be mad at her for her latest commentary on the laglag bala.

Boy, was she wrong. She even earned praise from netizens. “I am Filipino and shame on us. Keep this up. This should get as much international attention so our government takes action on this one. A lot of us will be on your side,” said one commenter named Mark Greene.

We’re not the biggest fan of Fox News Channel — it’s brash, sensational and passive aggressive. But there is one thing that it has: Reach.

So now we can all bow our heads and wait for the earth to crack open and swallow us alive now that the whole world is about to know about us.
