Viral: This guy stuck Duterte’s face on his luggage to ward off ‘laglag bala’ extortionists

There are many ways to protect yourself from the “laglag bala” scheme. There’s the option of wrapping your luggage in plastic, there’s also leaving notes and poems for extortionists.

But Tacloban-bound Facebook user Julian Lance’s idea is the best: He put the face of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte on his luggage and accompanied it with a quote that read: Ipapakain ko sa inyo iyang bala.”

He then posted photos of himself rolling his Duterte luggage at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on Facebook Friday and, zoom, it went viral.

Just to be clear: This is not Photoshopped. He really did paste Duterte’s face on his luggage and rolled it around the airport.

When Coconuts Manila asked him why he chose this kind of measure, he answered us with a photo of himself with Duterte.

He added, “I’m a supporter [of Duterte]. Papunta akong Tacloban, eh grabe, araw-araw na lang may nagtatanim ng bala. Pagpunta ko ng NAIA karamihan ng luggage naka-plastic, tape.”

Of course it worked. “Touchdown Tacloban! Safo po luggage ko. Walang bala. Effective talaga siya,” he wrote on his Facebook.

We wonder if anybody will be using Binay’s face next. Remember that Halloween decor?
