Liz Uy isn’t going to take shit from the Fashion Pulis.
The popular stylist is set to file six libel charges against Fashion Pulis blogger Michael Sy Lim today, Monday, Nov 9, at the Office of the City Prosecutor in Makati.
According to Bernie V. Franco of PEP.ph, she will be hiring the services of Atty. Lorna Kapunan for them cases against Lim.
It is widely believed that the cases are for those malicious Fashion Pulis posts that practically created the “recycled gown issue.”
Back the truck up: Liz Uy, as we all know by now, is the stylist of Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza. During the Tamang Panahon concert last Oct 24, Mendoza wore a beautiful pink dress by Francis Libiran.
On Oct 29, Fashion Pulis posted a photo collage of Maine and Kim Chiu wearing the exact same thing. Maine’s photo was taken during the “Tamang Panahon” concert, while Kim Chiu’s was from 2013. The post’s title reads: “Stylist makes Maine Mendoza Wear Recycled Gown during Historic Event”.
This led rabid fans to bash Uy for making Maine wear a supposedly “recycled” dress. The issue was blown out of proportion with some going as far as to say Uy chose a “recycled” gown because she was tight with Vice Ganda, who hosts It’s Showtime, Eat Bulaga!’s competitor.
While Uy has already straightened the issue, saying the gown was part of Libiran’s Bangalore collection and that it was actually bought by TAPE, Inc., producers of Eat Bulaga!, for the occasion.
But Fashion Pulis seems to have a deep fixation on Uy’s styling game. On the same day, Lim fixes his gaze on Maine Mendoza’s appearance on the November cover of Preview magazine, displays sharp memory, and calls out Uy for making Maine wear the same jacket she wore a few weeks ago. His headline? “Liz Uy Makes Maine Mendoza Wear Same Jacket She Wore Weeks Ago in Preview Photoshoot.”
Preview has since issued a statement saying it was not Liz Uy who styled Maine for the cover; it was actually her brother Vince Uy who did. And that Maine was who was the first to wear the said jacket when they shot the cover on Sep 30.
In August, Fashion Pulis was arrested for libel, which was filed by Deniece Cornejo.
