Well, not really, but there is another #APECHottie that’s blowing our collective minds.
His name: Per Liljas, a Scandinavian journalist covering APEC for Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet.
We have APEC volunteer Euei (“yu-wey”) to thank for that.
She took stolen shots of Per Liljas (that wasn’t in the job description, Euei!) and posted it to Twitter. Attagirl.
Her tweet has been RTd over 600 times and was even featured on BuzzFeed Philippines.
Speaking for the first time to media, Euei tells Coconuts Manila that Liljas was working on a story that and trying to shedule an interview.
“My friend, who is also in one of the photos, was attracted to him so I decided to snap pictures discreetly,” she told us.
Eventually, Euei had the guts to talk to Liljas so that she can take decent shots of the Swedish journalist.
Today Euei even asked him to say “Mahal ko ang Pilipinas” on video. Naks, close na agad?
Coconuts Manila caught up with the 33-year-old journalist this afternoon and he was magnanimous enough to answer a few questions.
“It’s always a bit strange when a reporter becomes a story in and of himself-herself, but I find the whole episode quite endearing — just like Filipinos and Filipinas are in general,” he said.
“I’m glad to be a part of spreading some smiles, and I’m sure the the real contents of the summit are not worse off because of it,” he added.
Per Liljas also provided a hashtag for us to use: #honoredtobeyourhottie
But sorry, ladies and gents. Liljas may want to keep things on a professional level. According to Euei, he already has a ring on it.
