6 Metro Manila spots listed as richest cities in PH

The 2014 Annual Financial Report of the Commission on Audit (COA) is out and among its revelations are the lists of the richest and poorest cities in the country.

Let’s start with the list of 10 Richest Cities or the ones with the highest equity:

Note: Equity is defined as “the difference between the value of the assets/interest and the cost of the liabilities of something owned.”

1. Makati City – PHP34.461 billion
2. Quezon City – PHP31.917 billion
3. Pasig City –  PHP20.036 billion
4. Manila City – PHP13.131 billion
5. Zamboanga City – PHP10.464 billion
6. Cebu City – PHP7.855 billion
7. Caloocan City – PHP6.894 billion
8. Marikina City – PHP4.887 billion
9. Calamba City – PHP4.690 billion
10. Cagayan de Oro City – PHP4.670 billion

Then we go down to the 10 “Poorest” Cities or the ones with the lowest equity:

1. Balanga City – PHP384 million
2. Calapan City – PHP374 million
3. Mabalacat City – PHP366 million
4. Catbalogan City – PHP354 million
5. Silay City – PHP351 million
6. Ilagan City – PHP322 million
7. El Salvador City – PHP309 million
8. Iriga City – PHP301 million
9. Lamitan City – PHP190 million
10. Malolos City – PHP180 million
