On Wed, Nov 25, during the Philippine Daily Inquirer‘s multimedia forum, editor Rosario Garcillano asked Mar Roxas how he would reach out to the masses.
Roxas replied, “I was the first government official to ride the MRT. Marami diyan kumopya na lang eh (Many others just copied what I did).”
“Roxas said he rode the rain when he was Trade secretary from 2000 to 2003,” reports Julliane Love De Jesus on Inquirer.net.
He added, “But this is not gimmick. That’s the reality. I live in Cubao and the DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) office is on Buendia (Gil Puyat). Hindi ito pagpapakitang tao (It’s not for show). It’s an efficient way to go to work.”
