The 2015 Havaianas Filipinas collection looks pretty darn cool

For its 2015 Havaianas Filipinas Collection, the Brazilian brand went over and beyond their usual and collaborated with three young Filipino artists.

Alessa Lanot, Abbey Sy and Patrick Cabral worked their lettering magic onto a Philippine-exclusive, limited-edition line of flip-flops.

The collection features three designs that echo a few of Filipinos’ favorite things: Lasap (food) made by Alessa Lanot, Lakbay (travel) by Abbey Sy, and Laro (play) by Patrick Cabral.

“The DIY concept really inspired us because there’s so much honesty to it,” Anne Gonzalez, managing director of Havaianas Philippines tells Coconuts Manila. “Lettering, in particular, suited the look we were going for,” she adds.

Havainas has been producing its limited-run Filipinas Collection since 2013. “It’s our way of bringing something really distinct and exclusive to our customers who have embraced the brand for over a decade,” Gonzalez continues.

It started with Dan Matutina’s “Make Your Own Havaianas” in 2013, after which the brand collaborated with Francis Libiran in 2014.

The Havainas Filipinos collection (PHP1,195) is available for both men and women. You’ll find these flip-flops in Havaianas stores nationwide starting Dec 1.
