Hours after Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach became Miss Universe, Miss Germany Sarah Lorraine Riek said a few nasty things about the woman who hails the social media capital of the world.
“I was very happy for Colombia,” Riek said on a video for Missosology. “She really deserved it. But I’m unhappy with the result, and so were the other girls. I’m very sorry to say it. No one of us voted for the Philippines. I’m so sorry to say.”
Of course the Philippines erupted. A few groups and communities were formed on Facebook, as a petition to strip her off her crown.
But nothing beats the Dear Miss Germany hashtag, which is still going strong on Twitter.
Below are some of the best tweets we’ve seen.
