Book asap: Ball Pit Manila is a pop-up installation that will open in Makati in March

The good news is, the highly anticipated adults-only, indoor playground Ball Pit Manila is opening in March “in a still undisclosed location in Makati”. Stressed out adults can finally dive, and swim in a sea of balls, and hopefully drown and leave their worries there.

We have three young and fun-loving entrepreneurs to thank for this fun development: Architect Tasha Reyes, music producer Nick Powers, and park manager Katrina Lacap.

When Reyes saw the New York and London ball pits, she immediately fell in love with the aesthetic, and knew right there that this is what everyone [in Metro Manila] needs.

She told her friends Katrina Lacap (who manages Jest Camp and Magaul Bird Park in Subic) and Nick Powers (a music producer based in New York) about it, and they quickly volted in.

“We all saw the potential for an idea that helped promote health and creativity in the community through play,” Reyes tells Coconuts Manila over email.

Apart from it being an amazing business opportunity, they thought it was a good way to enhance the lives of Metro Manila residents.

Ball Pit Manila boasts of 20 square meters of rolling waves of 80,000 plastic, white balls.

It can accommodate 20 people at once, with each person given a swim time of 1 hour.

It will cost you PHP499 for a hour, but because they’re just about to open, Ball Pit Manila is offering a promo price of PHP299 for an hour.

Ball Pit Manila will run on a daily basis, with a projected operational hours of 11am-10pm.

Now, the meh news: Ball Pit Manila is actually only a pop-up. It’s an installation that will run for a limited time only with its representative pegging it at a two-month duration. “It’s best to peg it at two months’ time, from March to April,” a representative of Ball Pit Manila replied to our pressing email.

So, if you’re one of them confused, stressed out adults, you know what to do.
