Video: Roxas Boulevard looks so darn inviting!

If you have no plans for Sunday morning, perhaps this video of a new and improved Roxas Boulevard, posted by Architect Paulo Alcanzaren on Facebook, will make you want to head out to Manila ASAP.

The boulevard now features a two kilometer-esplanade that’s both friendly to bikers and pedestrians. It’s cleaner, greener, and correct us if we’re wrong, but we can’t seem to find those gaudy street lamps anywhere in this video — thank God.

Alcanzaren only uploaded the video on Friday afternoon but it has since gone viral, with 1,050 shares and over 1,600 views. Watch the video and let it move you toward Roxas!

If you have time this weekend, come on down to the made-over Roxas Boulevard. Clean, green, and open to everyone. Walk, bike, jog, or saunter, down the two-kilometer esplanade on either side of the road (both sides have been improved to be pedestrian and bike friendly, better lit and better paved). Bring a friend …or the whole barkada. If government continues to invest in infrastructure for people and bike riders as a priority over vehicles, then we can re-make our cities to provide better settings for social interaction, recreation, the development of civic spirit and public fun! (best enjoyed in HD, where internet speeds allow)
