PH is finally getting its first trampoline park!

We’re predicting 2016 will be the year that activity and recreational center openings will finally be able to keep up with restaurant launches.

A little less than a week after news of an adults-only ball pit opening shop in March excited the bejeezus out of us, comes another bit of recreational fun news: We’re finally getting our first-ever trampoline park! And even better: We’re getting it in two weeks’ time.

Trampoline Park — yes, that is its name — is set to open at The Portal in the Greenfield District in Mandaluyong “sometime between Jan 27 and Feb 10,” Shay Yellin, one of the owners, tells Coconuts Manila over email.

Spread over 800sqm, about 70 trampolines in various sizes should get you jumping and moving and burning calories and shaking that thing.

According to Yellin, they spent over six months in preparation, research, and building the park.

Trampoline Park features basketball lanes for slam-dunking, a dodge ball section, where volleyball games can also be played, a foam pit for aerial acrobatics, and a free-jump area, where Zumba and other fitness classes that the park intends to offer will be held.

They plan to offer toddler jumping hours in the mornings as well as zero gravity jumping parties. “On Friday and Saturday nights, we’ll also have a special gravity DJ parties with great music and trampoline dancing,” Yellin adds.

Trampoline Park can fit about 100 people in one go, with various time durations ranging from 30 minutes to two hours. “We start at PHP180, depending on the time and the activity,” Yellin continues.

In addition to all the trampoline fun, the park will have a coffee shop and a beautiful high viewing deck, in case you’re not convinced of all the fun and would rather watch people.

Apparently, trampoline parks have long been the global rage with roughly 350 trampoline parks around the world. In the region, the Philippines follows Singapore and Hong Kong where trampoline parks had been set up as early as two years ago.

“It’s time to get adults and kiddos away from their mobile screens and burn off some serious energy,” Mark Hogsden, the primary co-founder of Trampoline Park says. “Trampolining is extremely powerful for your core, because in every jump you need to tighten your core muscles in order to control your body position.”

To ensure safety, guests will have to go through the training section before getting into the actual trampoline court. Shoes, of course, are a no-no “but guests are required to wear special socks with grippy bottoms that they can acquire at the counter.”

Unlike Ball Pit Manila which is a pop-up installation, Trampoline Park is a permanent fixture. “We are here to stay,” Yellin says. “In fact, we plan to open more locations, too.”

Trampoline Park, The Portal, Mayflower Street, Greenfield District, Mandaluyong. +63905 453 3879. Sun-Wed 9am-10pm. Thur-Sat 9am-11pm.
