Fil-Am Jordan Norwood is playing for the Denver Broncos at Super Bowl 50

A Filipino is going to be at the center of the action in the much-awaited Super Bowl 50 on February 8.

Denver Bronco’s wide receiver, Jordan Norwood, is a Filipino-American whose family originally hailed from Honolulu, Hawaii.

His mother, Tiffany Norwood, is half-Filipina.

But you might be more familiar with his brother Gabriel “Gabe” Daniel Norwood, who plays for the Philippine Basketball Association and is popularly known by local basketball fans as “Mr. President.”

Jordan Norwood has not played in a regular game since 2012 after suffering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in the training camp during the 2013 season.

But he has been drafted by the Broncos for their 2015-2016 roster, and will now play for the team on its much-anticipiated championship match against the Carolina Panthers.

In his interview with ABS-CBN News, Norwood shared that he grew up more with the Filipino side of his family and that he still enjoys Filipino dishes like tocino and pork adobo.

His brother Gabe and the rest of the family are expected to cheer for the football star at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, during the big game.
