He’s always had conservative opinions, so we’re not surprised about what he’s saying about this particular subject. For the record, though, there are animals who have exhibited homosexual behavior.
In an interview with Bilang Pilipino, the data-driven elections coverage by News5, InterAksyon.com, Bloomberg Philippines, Philippine Star, and BusinessWorld, Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao expressed his disapproval on the issue of same-sex marriage when he was asked about his stand.
Pacquiao is running for a Senate seat in the 2016 Philippine elections. He cited that “coming from a religious background, he could not give the clamor for same-sex marriage his support.”
This is what he said: “Ginawa ang babae para sa lalaki, ginawa ang lalaki para sa babae (Woman was made for man, man was made for woman).”
Pacquiao further explained: “Common sense lang. Makakita ka ba ng any animals na lalaki sa lalaki o babae sa babae? Mas mabuti pa yung hayop. Marunong kumikilala, kung lalaki o lalaki, babae o babae (It’s common sense. Will you see any animals where male is to male and female is to female? The animals are better. They know how to distinguish, male or female).”
In closing, he stated, “Ngayon kung lalaki sa lalaki, babae sa babae, mas masahol pa sa hayop ang tao (If we approve male-to-male, female-to-female pairings, then man is worse than animal).”
