The New York Library just released a wealth of digitized public domain artwork — along with an invitation to explore artistic possibilities using the restriction-free content.

Yes, that means you may grab any of the materials and do as you please.

As said on their site, “No permission required, no hoops to jump through: just go forth and reuse!”

The collection includes 180,000 maps, postcards, music sheets, etchings, photographs, stamps, prints, and illustrations from around the world.

Included in the collection are images of beautiful Manila before the pollution, disastrous traffic, and an unwanted condominium tower.
