Sorry, bashers! Kathryn Bernardo is staying away from negativity

This is a rule we should all start following.

Kathryn Bernardo said her secret to having a happy life is staying away from negative people.

“Kasi if you surround yourself with negative people, mahahawa ka. So feeling ko (if you surround yourself) with positive people, I think you can have a good life,” she told Coconuts Manila and other members of the press during the launch of her book, Everyday Kath, on Sun, Apr 10.

The book, published by Summit Media, is a guidebook that lists 365 Ways to be a Teen Queen.

The young actress, who turned 20 last month, is one of the most followed local celebrities on social media, with 3 million fans on Instagram and 6 million on Twitter.

Naturally, this makes her a favorite target among bashers and haters.

She said the constant bashing online, along with other life experiences, made her stronger.

“Before kasi medyo fragile ako. But because of all the experiences before, I think I have learned a lot. Feeling ko kailangan talaga maging strong ka para ready to face everyone,” Kathryn said.

One of the things she’s looking forward to as a 20-year-old? The more mature roles she’ll be playing for ABS-CBN. Kathryn is set to do a movie with perennial onscreen (and rumored real-life) partner Daniel Padilla.

They will film the movie, their fourth starring role together, in Barcelona. It will be directed by Olivia Lamasan.

“Siya yung parang best na sabihan mo ng secrets, and then magaadvice sa’yo na di ka ijujudge. And magproprotect sa iyo, kung sino ang umaway sa’yo or something andun siya para sapakin niyang lahat,” Kathryn said of Daniel.

“Marami kaming natutunan sa isa’t isa and I’m really thankful na andyan si Daniel from day one hanggang ngayon,” she added.
