VIRAL: Dog left on pickup bed, under summer sun, as truck travels along EDSA

This is just plain cruel.

Can someone please help us identify the animal in this photo? We think his/her owner needs to be lectured on how to treat pets properly. 

A Facebook post that shows a poor Labrador leashed on the back of a Ford pick up truck travelling along EDSA-Ortigas in the middle of the day has gone viral. 

The dog appeared thirsty and tired. “YOU DO NOT DO THIS TO A DOG!! It’s scorching hot outside and s/he is clearly struggling to find shade. The passenger and backseats are empty, why can’t you let your dog sit with you in your vehicle instead?!”

Netizens reacted by calling on organizations like PAWS and CARA to take action. 

The driver of the vehicle has yet to be identified, and the person who posted the photo says she is working with an animal rescue group to locate the owner.

“As it is, the photo has captured way too much attention without any action,” she told Coconuts Manila when we reached out to her. 

“It has roused pointless arguments in social media and I no longer want to get involved in those. I am, instead, working with an animal rescue group to find the owner instead. I prefer not to have this up on any other website anymore. I hope you understand,” she continued.
