Escolta incubation space looking for tenants; Fred’s Revolucion to open outlet

All this yada yada about reviving Manila and bringing it back to its former glory has become tiresome, we know. So we’re glad to report that someone is actually doing something to make that happen.

Hub Make Lab is a soon-to-open business incubation space at the wonderfully-preserved First United Building, which has been hosting Saturday x Future Market for some time now.

To be managed by 98B COLLABoratory, it’s a six-days-a-week commercial space for enterpreneurs who want to dip their toes into business water without the big expense and long-term commitment.

Spaces are available for three months only, and there are 22 units available, ranging from 6.12sqm (PHP4,420.05) to 13.31sqm (PHP9,612.88). The rates, as you can see, are very affordable.

Sellers will be selected based on their product or merchandise, and the proposed design for their spaces.

To preserve the artsy-fartsy, hipster, millennial theme of 98B, suggested items to be sold are art works, limited edition merchandise, innovative food items, upcycled clothes and accessories, independent clothing labels, DIY wares, vintage goods or refurbished antiques.

The only long-term tenant so far is Fred’s Revolucion, the legendary Cubao X bar, which opens its second outlet in a 100 sqm space by May 26.

Those interested in applying for a space can check out www.98-b.org/hubmakelab.
