OneRepublic to return to Manila for MTV concert

No money in the world can get you tickets to OneRepublic’s concert in Manila.

The popular British pop rock band will return to the Philippines to perform at the MTV Music Evolution Manila 2016 on June 24, but here’s the catch: Tickets for the show are not for sale.

But they can be won via various contests starting Apr 26.

OneRepublic, composed of Ryan Tedder, Zach Filkin, Drew Brown, Eddie Fisher, and Brent Kutzie, is well-loved in the Philippines for its hits such as “Apologize,” “I Lived,” and “Counting Stars.” Their song “Something I Need” was even used in the theme song of the Vilma Santos movie Everything About Her earlier this year.

The band first performed in the country at the Araneta Coliseum in 2013, where its frontman Tedder declared love for chicken and pork adobo and pancit canton.

This is the second time MTV is holding a Music Evolution show in Manila. The 2015 edition of the show featured hip-hop and R&B acts such as Naughty by Nature, apl.de.ap, Abra and Gloc-9.
