Coldplay coming to Manila in ‘latter part of the year’

Citing a brand manager of a telecommunications company sponsoring the event, JC Ansis reported on CNN Philippines that British rock band Coldplay is visiting Manila this year.

According to the CNN Philippines report, “the source requests anonymity as he is not authorized to speak on the matter.” The source added that while details of the Coldplay concert have yet to be finalized, the band “is definitely coming to Manila at the latter part of the year.”

Two other employees from the telecommunications company also confirmed the news. The telecommunications company is expected to make a formal announcement about the Coldplay concert soon.

Meanwhile, in a Philippine Daily Inquirer report, an official of SM Mall of Asia Arena revealed that “promoters have booked the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena for two separate concerts featuring the bands Coldplay and U2.”

The report noted: “Coldplay is scheduled to perform in the last week of November, while U2 is due in February 2017.”

However, the venue official pointed out that “the bookings are not final until the signing of contracts.”

Coldplay’s hits include songs such as “Fix You,” “Paradise,” “A Sky Full of Stars,” and “Yellow.”
