Lea Salonga is ‘delightful’ in ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’ season finale!

The US musical-comedy show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend aired its season finale on Mon, Apr 18 (US time). And as previously reported, it featured Broadway star Lea Salonga!

The 45-year-old singer-actress appeared on the show as Myrna, the aunt of Fil-Am actor Vincent Rodriquez’s character Josh. Lea sang the Disney-esque love song “One Indescribable Instant.”

“Knowing that she’d be guesting in advance didn’t make her appearance any less delightful. I hope that Aunt Myrna went up against Beyoncé’s childhood girl group on Star Search,” A.V. Club said of Lea.

For those not in the know, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend made headlines both here and in the US for its landmark portrayal of Filipino culture on American TV. For one, the show’s leading man Josh is a Filipino-American in the show, apart from being played by an actual Fil-Am.

And what’s even more amazing: the co-writer for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend‘s season finale is Rene Gube, who is also Fil-Am!

Lea took over Entertainment Weekly‘s Instagram account to promote the show, and here are some of the photos:

We’re hoping aunt Myrna will make another appearance in the show’s second season!
