Shaina Magdayao is happily single and doesn’t give a flying f about ex John Lloyd Cruz’s love life

Shaina Magdayao is single. And so is her ex-boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz. So it’s expected that some fans and showbiz pundits will ask if there’s a chance she and John Lloyd could get back together.

But sorry folks, the 26-year-old actress said that’s far from happening.

“Wala namang nangyayari talaga ngayon, and it’s really very far from my world. My world is really big, but the industry is very small,” Shaina said at a press conference of her upcoming Cinema One show Single/Single on Thu, Apr 21.

The show’s second season, which also stars Matteo Guidicelli, will premiere on Fri, May 15.

The question isn’t exactly out there; showbiz has seen its fair share of reconciliations between ex-lovers. But for Shaina, who said she is happy being single, it’s more important that she and John Lloyd are okay the way they are now (they’re friends, she said, but not close). “Life is a choice. Bakit ka pa gagawa ng friction with any other individual? I’m just here, sa showbiz, sa mundong ito, to work,” she said.

Shaina and John Lloyd broke up in 2012 after a two-year relationship. While John Lloyd admitted his relationship with Angelica Panganiban months after their split, Shaina has reportedly remained single since.

But obviously, she’s no longer bitter about their breaukup. Asked if she’s happy John Lloyd and Angelica have brokem up, Shaina said: “Dapat wala rin akong say dun. That’s totally out of my world. Until now hindi ko alam, is it even confirmed?” (John Lloyd recently confirmed it)

Shaina also refused to comment on rumors that her friend Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd are dating.

“I don’t think kailangan kong mag-react. That’s totally out of the environment kung saan ako gumagalaw ngayon. And it’s actually none of my business,” she said. In other words: She doesn’t give a damn. However, Shaina is quick to clarify her friendship with Bea is not affected by the rumors.

Maybe being single suits Shaina well, as she is currently swamped with work. Apart for Single/Single, Shaina will star in the election-themed comedy movie My Candidate this May. She’s also slated to star in a movie with Enrique Gil.
