Apr 22, 10am-3pm. Cinema ’76 Film Society is the latest addition to Metro Manila’s ever-growing list of cinemas. They’re inviting artists and aspiring directors to join a master class in art direction with award-winning production designer Cesar Hernando. He’s known for erotic pyscho-thriller films, so things are bound to get exciting. Celebrate books and reading at Dia del Libro 

Apr 23, 11am-11pm. Heads up, Bibliophiles! The International Book fair is happening this weekend and it sounds all sorts of wonderful. Dia del Libro was brought to the Philippines by Instituto Cervantes in 2006, and every year, they’ve been surprising us with new activities that make us fall in love with the written word even more. What to expect this year? Book launches, sales, artistic activites and even a small food fest. You might even get to score free books. There’s no reason not to go. Start a new hobby at #ShangCraftsMania

Apr 22-23, 2pm-6pm. Crafting has never been this convenient. Shangri-La brings together the most inspiring artists in a series of free workshops in Craft Mania, an arts and crafts bazaar. There are workshops on embossed calligraphy, illustrated lettering, journalling, taka painting and many more. The best part? Most of the workshops are free (but you must register!). Buy Local at the Mandala Park weekend market

Apr 23, 4pm-10pm. What’s not to love about the Mandala Park weekend market? There’s good food, local products and nice blues music playing in the background. Get to know Salvador Bernal at Badong: Salvador Bernal Designs the Stage 

Ongoing, 10am-6pm. Known as the “Father of Theater Design in the Philippines,” Salvador Bernal became instrumental in enriching fine arts in the country. His works in theater design made a significant impact in ballet, opera, theater and film. This exhibit is designed to reintroduce the National Artist to a younger generation.
