James Reid and Nadine Lustre are arguably two of showbiz’s stars right now.
And by admitting their relationship, they just one-upped other love teams who continue to beat around the bush about their rumored (make-believe?) relationship.
But the 22-year-old actor is not resting on his laurels.
“Competition. You need healthy competition. Its definitely a necessity,” James told Salve Asis of Pilipino Star Ngayon, when asked about the competition among love teams.
He’s not claiming credit for the success of his onscreen partnership with real-life girlfriend Nadine.
“I guess we have the fans to thank for that. When they say we’re no 1, ‘coz we have lots of work right now, very successful TV show, everything’s going really well, it doesn’t mean we’re better, we just have amazing fans,” James said.
As for Nadine, she’s happy they decided to be open about their relationship — even if some pundits aren’t too convinced.
“Na-realize ko rin po, dati ayaw ko, sabi ko James, ‘wag na. Tapos nu’ng nag-announce siya, sabi mas ok, at least ‘di na kami nagtatago’,” she said.
