‘Laglag-bala’ on vacation? 14 live bullets found inside passenger’s bag at Caticlan Airport

On Thu, Apr 28, live ammunition was found inside the luggage of a 29-year-old businessman at the Caticlan Airport.

Office of Transportation Security (OTS) personnel at the Godofredo P. Ramos Airport in Caticlan, Malay, Aklan said they found 15 bullets inside the luggage of the businessman. The businessman denied the allegations.

According to Police Senior Insp. Frensy Andrade, chief of Malay police station, the businessman arrived in Boracay with his wife for their honeymoon. This was details in a report by ABS-CBN News correspondent Bea Zaragosa.

Airport personnel John Tesorero detected the bullets when the businessman’s luggage passed the X-ray machine.

When checked by aviation police, 14 live ammunition of undetermined caliber and one empty shell were found inside the businessman’s luggage. No firearm was recovered, according to the police.

The businessman was detained for violating the Comelec gun ban and Republic Act 10591 or illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. This story has been re-published with permission from ABS-CBNnews.com.
