Spotted at BPI Julia Vargas Avenue: Rodrigo Duterte…the mascot

When nothing much happens from such a hyped-up event, it helps when there are fun things that amuse us. This story will not do anything to improve the country and it sure as hell won’t bring nationwide peace, but, hey, we do need to lighten up at times.

The supposed face-off between Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte  at the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) branch on Julia Vargas Avenue in Ortigas Center, Pasig turned an impromptu campaign rally for Duterte on Mon, May 2.

Hundreds of Duterte his supporters gathered near the bank where Trillanes accused him of keeping a bank account that held as much as PHP227 million. (Initial reports cited PHP211 million.)

Trillanes arrived at the bank and Duterte sent in his representative, Atty. Salvador Panelo. Duterte has scheduled campaign sorties elsewhere in the country.

Anyway, while Duterte wasn’t at the BPI face-off, his supporters had brought a mascot that was made in his likeness. What do you think of the mascot?
