Sorry, AlDub fans. You won’t be seeing Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza in Eat Bulaga‘s Kalyeserye segment for some time.
During the Sat, May 7, episode of the GMA noontime show, Alden and Maine announced they will be gone from Eat Bulaga to fly to Italy to shoot parts of their upcoming movie.
“Ang bilis nga po ng panahon kasi wala pang one year na magkakasama tayo, araw-araw magkakasama tayo tapos ngayon mawawala kami ni Alden,” Maine said. “Babalik naman po kami, kasi gagawa lang naman po kaming pelikula.”
“Sana po patuloy n’yo kaming suportahan ni Maine sa lahat ng ginagawa namin,” Alden said. “Nandito lang po kami para sa inyong lahat, anumang pagsubok, walang bibitiw.”

Don’t worry, though. The popular love team said they will give updates of their movie shoot on Eat Bulaga. So we guess they probably won’t be really gone for that long?
The said movie, which will be directed by Mike Tuviera, will mark Alden and Maine’s first time to headline a project together outside the Kalyeserye (and their countless commercials). They starred in the Metro Manila Film Festival My Bebe Love, but that was headlined by Vic Sotto and Ai Ai delas Alas.
Perhaps this is the best time for the two to do a solo project outside Eat Bulaga, especially with rumors that Alden is set to do a soap opera on GMA — not with Maine but with Jennylyn Mercado. Wonder how that would work out, especially with AlDub’s very passionate fans.
