Armchair used by Duterte to vote, to be put in glass case

Thanks to supporters who don’t get tired of showing their admiration for the presumptive President Rodirigo Duterte, this simple arm chair is now a cultural memoabilla.

What’s so special about it? The wooden armchair in Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (DRANHS) was used by the mayor to cast his vote on May 9.

The ‘seat of victory’ has been placed inside the principal’s office of DRANHS to protect it from flocking supporters, GMA News reports.

Upon the suggestion of Board of Election Inspector Mary Rose Dagal, the chair was marked with the words “Historical Chair-Seat of Victory.”

Rosalina Sondong, a teacher in the school, said that there are plans to preserve the armchair inside a glass case.

It will most likely be displayed in Museo Dabawenyo.
