Purisima arrested at NAIA for alleged anomalous courier service contract

It’s what happens after the arrest that gets complicated.

Tom Ibay, Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-National Capital Region (CIDG-NCR) deputy chief, confirmed that former PNP chief Alan Purisima was arrested at the arrival area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport-Terminal 3 (NAIA-3) on Fri, May 20.

“Ibay said Purisima’s arrest warrant was served as his plane from Butuan City landed at the airport. Purisima was then escorted by police to the Sandiganbayan,” report Edwin Sevidal and Raoul Esperas on ABS-CBNnews.com.

The report noted: “The anti-graft court’s Sixth Division issued a warrant of arrest for Purisima and his co-accused, Napoleon Estilles, Gil Meneses, Allan Parreño, Melchor Reyes, and Ford Tuazon over the case involving the allegedly anomalous courier service contract in 2011.”
