‘The Voice Kids’ nine-year-old contestant to star in Les Misérables in Singapore

Another international theater superstar in the making? The Voice Kids season two second runner-up Esang de Torres is joining the cast of the Singapore run of Les Misérables!

The nine-year-old is flying to Singapore on Sat, May 27 to reprise her role as young Cosette for the musical, which she previously did during the musical’s run in Manila last month.

“Masaya po ako na gumanap na little Cosette sa Les Misérables at nagpapasalamat po ako kay Lord kasi po dahil po sa kanya mayro’n akong talent,” Esang told Philstar.com.

Of course, her The Voice Kids coach Lea Salonga is happy about Esang’s latest achievement.

“I’m still flabbergasted and the production team said she’s wonderfully talented, ‘We love her. We love her in the company.’ I was like, ‘You have no idea how proud I am of that kid. She’s really talented, really special’,” Lea told Nerisa Almo of Pep.ph.

Incidentally, the third season of The Voice Kids will premiere on Sat, May 28.

“You gotta have something that we can absolutely work with and we have to see that you have the potential to be the champion of this competition,” Lea said of the contestants in The Voice Kids.
