Cop ranked PO2 who lives in house ‘fit for a general’ is alleged shabu ‘reseller’

We’re sure that there are good cops out there — but the corrupt ones are reportedly way too many.

Police Officer 2 (P02) Jolly Aliangan — an anti-narcotics officer who reports to the Philippine National Police’s National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) — was recentlly arrested by operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

Aliangan’s house, which was described as “fit for a general,” was raided by NBI operatives on Wed, May 25.

“They found PHP7 million in cash and a hefty stash of ‘shabu’ at Aliangan’s well-furnished home in Sampaloc Manila. The drugs were allegedly supplied by a syndicate still being run by a drug lord who was already convicted and serving time. Aliangan was also tagged by the NBI as a ‘reseller’ of drugs that were earlier confiscated in police operations,” reports Aie Balagtas See in Philippine Daily Inquirer.

The NBI placed Aliangan’s three-story house under surveillance for three months before the raid. They noted that the house looked “high-end” despite the fact that Aliangan earns only about PHP23,000 a month.

The report noted: The house was also equipped with several security cameras monitoring its perimeter. Parked behind the tall black gate were two new vehicles: a Toyota Altis and a Fortuner. The NBI said several firearms, fake license plates and a few more sachets of shabu were also found inside the two vehicles.”

Max Salvador, head of the NBI-National Capital Region office, said, “Aliangan is a mover of illegal drugs sourced from a drug lord (held) at New Bilibid Prison.”

However, Salvador declined to identify the drug lord, only saying that he “was one of the 19 convicts who were briefly moved out of Bilibid and held at the NBI headquarters late last year following the raids conducted by the bureau on the lavish quarters enjoyed by the so-called VIP prisoners.”

The NBI also arrested Aliangan’s wife, Ronalie, whom the NBI said “was caught flushing several kilos of shabu down the toilet during the raid.”
