Arrested: Fil-Am who killed pregnant girlfriend in East Hollywood

This is what it looks like when the American Dream turns into a nightmare.

A convicted Filipino-American felon, Philip Patrick Policarpio, 39, who was among the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI’s) 10 most wanted, was recently captured at the U.S.-Mexico border.

“Policarpio was wanted for the killing of his pregnant girlfriend, Lauren Elaine Olguin. At the time of the killing, Policarpio was on parole for a conviction in a 2001 assault case,” reports Balitang America.

Policarpio was said to have killed Olguin during an Apr 12 gathering in East Hollywood. After bursting into a room where Olguin was playing cards, Policarpio struck her several times and then allegedly shot her in the forehead.

Policarpio was arrested at the port of entry in the San Ysidro District of San Diego as he was crossing into the U.S. from Tijuana, Mexico. A Los Angeles Time report said “Policarpio told border agents he was a Mexican citizen who had made a wrong turn when he was stopped at the San Ysidro crossing.”
