Comedian Jose Manalo falls into Santolan River during Eat Bulaga! segment

The show must go on — no matter what.

In the Tue, Jun 14, broadcast of popular noontime show Eat Bulaga!, comedian Jose Manalo had an unfortunate accident during the popular “Juan For All, All For Juan Sugod Bahay” segment.

In the segment, Jose, along with fellow comedian Wally Bayola (co-host Paolo Ballesteros was also with them in the past), would go to different locations to interact with fans.

Here’s how the segment works: “The studio host draws an entry from a box containing registration forms from a certain barangay and then they call the person to confirm their name and address. The on-location hosts then go to the home address to meet and give several prizes (cash and some products of gift certificates) to the person whose name was drawn.”

Jose and Wally are always on-location hosts for the said segment. On this particular day, they were at a settlement near the Santolan River. The house they were going to was right on the river and one had to use a makeshift raft to get to it. Jose gamely got on the raft…but he fell into the river.

This video clip uploaded on YouTube by AlDub Nation shows Jose’s actual accident.

Much credit should be given to Jose for not missing a beat and still going on with the segment despite the accident.

In fact, as Nikko Tuazon pointed out on PEP:  “Jose’s epic fall wasn’t captured on live television and the rest of the hosts wanted a detailed account on the incident. Jose granted their request by demonstrating what happened and falling into the river for the second time.”

Jose continued to poke fun at himself as he took a bath to wash off the…contaminants (for lack of a better term) from his accident.

Here’s the clip of the aftermath of Jose’s accident as shown on the clip uploaded on YouTube by Vincent Maravilla.

Nice work, Jose! You’re a real entertainer.
