Incoming PNP chief to form ‘Police Avengers’ team to fight big-time drug lords

What could be more morale-boosting than a reference to a group of superheroes?

“Incoming chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Superintendent Ronald dela Rosa is now forming his own team of ‘Police Avengers’ that will focus on running after big-time drug lords working inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) compound and their protectors in government,” reports Aaron B. Recuenco in Manila Bulletin.

The report noted: “This means that there will be a massive revamp in police organization especially in the provincial and regional level when he formally assumes the top police post on July 1. For starters, Dela Rosa said he would replace at least 15 of the 18 sitting police regional directors.”

He stated, “There will be a reshuffle. Almost everybody will be affected.”
