QC drug users who surrender now will learn new skills, assisted in landing jobs

Is this a good incentive for drug users to change their ways?

The local government of Quezon City is launching an all-out war on illegal drugs starting Jul 1, a day after incoming President Rodrigo Duterte is inaugurated into office.

Until then, mayor Herbert Bautista will be implementing a unique amnesty program to drug users in Metro Manila’s biggest city.

According to Philstar.com, Bautista has promised to those who register themselves now that they will be “prioritized in job offerings by the government as well as in alternative education programs by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.”

The QC government will also take care of their rehabilitation and the needs of their families. This is its way of helping drug “victims” change for the better and have a new life, according to the report.

“But those who remain stubborn, they will face the city government’s iron fist. That is an instruction, that is an order,” Bautista reportedly told media on Fri, Jun 24.
