James Reid and Nadine Lustre’s new teleserye will have a gay twist, oh my!

There’s a new James Reid and Nadine Lustre TV series coming out in September.

Till I Met You, to be directed by Antoinette Jadaone, is a follow-up to the reel and real life couple’s successful romantic-comedy series On The Wings Of Love, also megged by Jadaone.

This trailer has been posted by ABS-CBN entertainment reporter MJ Felipe.

It starts out innocent at first.

James and Nadine play an engaged couple, Sebastian and Iris, who were introduced to each other by their mutual friend Alejandro (JC Santos).

Sounds like a typical Filipino soap opera, right? Well, here’s where it gets interesting: By the end of the trailer, it would seem as Sebastian and Alejandro have a hidden, past connection.

A voice over on the trailer can be heard saying: “Sa paglantad ng tinatago ng puso, will love win?” (“When what’s inside your heart is revealed, will love win?”)

There’s even a rainbow-colored #LoveWins hashtag somewhere in the trailer.

#LoveWins, of course, trended on Twitter after gay marriage was legalized in the United States last year. So is the trailer hinting a gay storyline for Till I Met You? Ooh la la.

Jadaone herself described the new James and Nadine show as timely. “Itong bagong teleserye ganun din, it’s about love, friendship and family, pero one notch higher in the sense na mayroon siyang statement, mayroon siyang gusto sabihin at iparating,” she said. (This new soap opera is about love, friend, and family but one notch higher in the sense that it has a statement.)

How fabulous is that.
