Objections be damned!
The Metro Manila Film Festival, thanks to its new executive committee, is pushing through with more radical changes this year.
A few months ago, it decided that producers who wish to enter the festival need to submit a film screener instead of a screenplay.

On Tue, Jun 28, MMFF execom head Emerson Carlos revealed another major change.
A separate selection committee will choose the eight official entries for this December’s film festival — instead of execom members, as in previous years.
In the newly formed selection committee are actor Sid Lucero, director Lawrence Fajardo, political activist Mae Paner, National Commission on Cultural and the Arts legal counsel Trixie Angeles, entertainment journalist Crispina Belen and radio station manager Alan Allanigue.
There will also be different set of juries — yet to be annnounced.
One final change: the award’s night will be held after, not during, the festival run.
This means producers can no longer use awards to boost their movie’s ticket sales — the way Walang Forever did last year.
This year’s deadline for entries is in October.
We hear Gil Portes is submitting a movie titled Moonlight Over Baler, while Star Cinema plans to enter a Coco Martin-Jennylyn Mercado starrer.
