Ka Freddie has solution for ‘Pambansang Photobomber’ Torre de Manila

Iconic musician Freddie Aguilar has been asked to be the new chief of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) — though we’re not sure what’s the deal with that because that is an appointive position.

In any case, in an interview with journalist Ed Lingao on News5 Everywhere, the singer was asked he would do to the ‘Pambansang Photobomber’ — DMCI’s Torre de Manila — which ruins the view of the monument of Dr. Jose Rizal in Luneta Park.

Ka Freddie answered, “Kung ako po ang masusunod — ito po ay personal na opinyon ko lang po — para wala nang gulo, pagpapalitin ko po yung puwesto ng kalabaw tsaka ni Rizal.”

Awkward pause, as if they were waiting for more.

“Ganun lang po ka-simple,” Ka Freddie adds.

When asked for a quick explanation, Ka Freddie said, “’Yung kalabaw po, ililipat ko po doon si Rizal. Para si Rizal sa atin, hindi nakaharap sa malayo, at ‘yung kalabaw po yung nakaharap sa malayo.”

In 2015, Rep. Amado Bagatsing made the similar suggestion to solve the photobombing issue.

Here’s the thing: this solution is not as simple as they thought because, as we learned back in elementary school, the monument also contains the remains of our national hero.

The NCCA issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) in June 2015 to temporarily cease the construction of the condominium building.
