Patrick Garcia’s wife shares how she was able to get over her insecurities

Insecure women, meet your new inspiration: Nikka Garcia, whose husband Patrick was once in a relationship with a favorite in FHM’s list of “sexiest” women around, Jennylyn Mercado. 

In a rather personal blog entry, Nikka shared how she was able to develop a more cordial relationship with Jennylyn after battling with her own fears and insecurities.

“What do I do? What is the ‘right’ feeling for this? How should I be? How should I act? So many questions I just could not seem to answer or even come close to answering,” she wrote in her blog. 

We totally understand, gurl!

Patrick and Jennylyn were a hot showbiz item years back. They had a controversial break-up, and Jennylyn raised their son Alex Jazz.

So how was Nikka able to get over?

Months before her wedding to Patrick, Nikka reached out to Jen. They met and talked. 

“I assured her that I would be a good Tita to Jazz. And that I will be supportive in anything and everything that is and will be good for him,” she wrote.

During their meeting, Nikka also asked Jen if Jazz can play a part in their wedding. Jen said yes. 

Being a devout Born Again Christian, Nikka emphasized how prayers and fasting helped her in her journey. 

She even described the day when she first met Jennylyn. 

“It was casual. It was peaceful. It was nice. I knew in my heart that this was definitely God’s plan. God took away all my insecurity and replaced it with genuine admiration. He took away jealousy and replaced it with compassion,” she said. 

Her decision to reach out to Jen made Patrick so happy. 

“He hugged me so tight. He thanked me over and over again. He said he loves me a million times. He was so happy. And so was I,” Nikka said. “That was all that mattered to me. I wanted my (soon-to-be) husband to be happy. It was absolutely worth it. It was beyond priceless.”

Today, Nikka and Patrick are happily married with two beautiful daughters. Nikka even attended Jazz’s 7th birthday back in Aug last year.
