Gerald Anderson said he fell in love fast and hard with Bea Alonzo six years ago

It’s a story we’ve heard before: Gerald Anderson and Bea Alonzo became an item in 2010 but had to break up because of the actor’s reel- and real-life relationship with Kim Chiu.

But because the two are starring (and promoting) a movie together, they are reliving the story again.

And this time, with more detail.

Gerald and Bea recalled their whirlwind romance in an interview with Irish Christianne Dizon of Philippine Star, published on Sat, Jul 23.

Gerald, 27, admitted he “fell in love fast and really hard” with Bea.

The two developed feelings for each other in Apr 2010 during a concert tour with other ABS-CBN artists in the United States.

But Bea said they had to wait for three months before officially becoming an item — inspired by the three-month rule from her 2007 hit movie One More Chance.

“Worst three months of my life. I was going through something. I hurt someone. But I was also looking forward to being with someone. Sh*t. Parang, ‘Oh man. Anong nangyayari sa buhay ko?’,” Gerald told the Star

They became official soon after that, but had to hide their relationship since Gerald was attached to Kim as a love team (according to the actor, he and Kim had already broken up at that time).

Bea revealed “even people from ABS” was against her relationship with Gerald.

“I was scared for her. I was scared for me. Pag magkasama kami, okay lang, enjoy kami, I forget everything. Pero once I leave, ayan na naman. Araw araw nasa TV ako or kami. It was really hard,” Gerald said.

(I was scared for her. I was scared for me. When we’re together, it’s okay, I forget everything. But once I leave, it’s difficut. Every day Bea and I are in the news.)

Bea said she felt their relationship was a “losing battle” when she saw Gerald’s mother “approving of his ex.”

Gerald and Bea decided to break up in Nov 2010.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Ricky Lo of the Philippine Star, Gerald desribed his relationship with Bea as “short but sweet.”

The former lovers said they were young, immature (for Gerald), and carefree (for Bea) at the time.

“I wish we could go back to those carefree years,” Bea said.

But sorry, fans. In previous interviews, Gerald already dispelled the idea of him and Bea getting back to together.

Their movie How To Be Yours premieres in theaters on Wed, Jul 27.
